Deleted Scene #1, #45, 2025
Framed photographs, fake lashes, black coloured lenses
Deleted Scenes is a series of framed videostills, taken from unused film footage. Each frame is combined with cosmetic prosthetics such as false lashes or lenses. The stills capture moments that hold a sense of aftermath – traces of gestures, events and bodies that left behind a certain scene. These fragments, both visual and material, suggest what has been cut, lost or left behind. Referencing Derrida’s notion of the trace, the work reflects on the remains of meaning in the absence of narrative, where visibility becomes shaped as much by erasure as by presence.
